Egyptian Blood... - 30th January 2011, 02:59 AM

Old haggard and cornered man,
you think in this dawn, that you can?

You are not even a hint of mubarak.
Only a piercing dagger from Barak.

Profess your blood is of Egypt’s life!
Like a devil sucks your ruinous wife.

On our blood, you have grown fat.
Soon you’ll run like Ben Ali the rat.

Get up goon, hurry and get out soon
Don’t wait a day or the waning moon.

Writ large our hurt and angry face.
The torture and pain of every race.

You stole our 'MISH' and our milk.
Taken to far-off lands, by your ilk.

You sold us and our country cheap.
Never you bothered, seeing us weep.

You've learned nothing in these days?
Even now, refusing to end your ways.

You are just crazy and being blind.
Soon you criminal you will find.

Go get lost, curse on you, before it’s late.
Though you deserve a horrible fate.

Just yet, we let you shamefully walk away.
Where ever maybe you’ve held your sway.

We abhor you Mubarak for what you are.
Hatefully we wish you, to hell and far.

Speak the same vain and empty words.
Consider us nothing, no more then herds.

We say to you “Kifaya, ya razeel! ”
Anta majnoon, ya marz al maut, bin Israel.

Glossary / explanation.

Mubarak In Arabic means a happy omen.
Barak. A reference to the Zionist entity.
Ben Ali The Tunisian strong man, now on the run.

'MISH' A unique Egyptian delicacy made from cheese.

“Kifaya, ya razeel! ”
Anta majnoon, ya marz al maut, bin Israel.
Enough you disgusting one,
You are crazy, a disease of death and son of Israel.

Yes dawn... dawn of a new era ..an era where the oppressed are rising up against the oppressors! I believe its there for everyone to see. ( BBC, CNN, New York Times, Washington Post, The Guardian, NDTV, ZeeNews, The Sydney Morning Herald, etc all of the editors/scholars at them see that way)

You are not even a hint of mubarak.

The standard of poem is absolutely up for debate and individual opinions must be respected for and that goes for the Poet as well as the Reader here. Who has persecuted whom... that my dear friends is history and to read history you need a non-partisan/unbiased view which is a hard thing to find these days. Objectivity, I believe is only residing in dictionary nowadays! Well opinion and freedom of expression must be respected but what is offensive to some might not be offensive to others and from what I can interpret here in this particular verse is the poet is accusing the subject of being an agent of suffering sponsored by those with purpose. If 'Barak' is offensive my friend then Obama must be an ashamed man, his father is a Muslim and that has got to do something with Obama's first name isn't it?

Yes everyone's has got the right of Opinion!

Incumbency factor? national laws? FYI Sir, Egypt is under its so called emergency laws(and constitution created by the same government) since 30 years.

Ooops! Dear Zidd bhai, nation? what nation ? Respect for one's nation is important and religion says that. Religion my dear friend you and I being believers in God, is created by God, show me a nation on earth whose borders were dictated by God. And show me a nation not created by humans on the basis of any one of the factors like ethnicity, language, race, religion etc? Religious identity before national identity or vice-versa is an absolutely ridiculous question. My dear friend is compassion for humanity below national identity for you?? I believe some day we have to answer to someone up there.. but I have never heard that Yam-raj will ask for national Id or Israel(Angel of Death in the Islamic faith) will ask for anyone's passport. As far as all the major religions are concerned what matters is your deeds , like whether you stood up for the oppressor or the oppressed.

You sold us and our country cheap.
Never you bothered, seeing us weep.

your country?

Egypt is a predominantly Muslim nation. Please understand the poet is a Muslim. He is sympathizing with them. I believe it is common sense not to take words literally!

You've learned nothing in these days?
Even now, refusing to end your ways.

You are just crazy and being blind.
Soon you criminal you will find.

Excuse me sir, this is not mismanagement..this is dictatorship .. can you please verify how the subject came to power and if by democratic means? was he the Popular choice ? And how the love of the people/masses lasted for 30 years (without force)? and as far as the derogatory manner is concerned the bitter truth is the subject is ethnic Arab,a man Semite origin. The Arabs and Jews are cousins they themselves acknowledge their roots to Prophet Abraham. Whom it is claimed originated in the present day Israel.

I agree with you Zidd bhai! 100%! People in India are neutral mostly , that's why you see it has historically chosen a government with policies in the Center of the political spectrum(neither Left Wing nor Right Wing).

At the end of the day.. overall the poem reflects the writer's personal opinion and whether it should be posted on neutral forum like SDC is absolutely up for debate. Zidd bhai has got some great points Dr. Tahir please reflect on those, my humble request. And hatred must be hated at all times and must be universally justifiable in case it is necessary.

Thanks & Kind Regards to All Concerned.
