लहरों से,रिश्ते ताक़ पर, उन पर ग़ज़ल पढ़ लें तो क्या |

न थकन कोई न खलिश कोई, महफ़िल-ए-मोहब्बत सज़ गयी,
दौर-ए-ग़ज़ल चलता रहा, ये शौक़ हम कर लें तो क्या |


ये ज़िंदगी है अजीब सी, है मौत उसकी हमसफ़र,
नोक-ए-कलम सी मुख़्तसर, अब दोस्ती सर लें तो क्या |

हम हैं तलाश-ए-यार में, कोई ज़मीं छोडी नहीं,
गर महज़बी हो क़ैद में, कोई फ़ुसूँ कर लें तो क्या |

अब रास्ता लगे धुल सा, वो भी ज़बीं पे लिखी नहीं,
अब क्या खुदा से गिला करें, इस गम में अब मर लें तो क्या |

Ab raasta lage dhool saa, wo bhi zabiiN pe likhi nahiN,
Ab kya khuda se gila kareN, is gam meiN ab mar leiN to kya.
